About the Role:

We are looking for a motivated, creative, and passionate candidate to develop purification processes for the manufacture of Anjarium’s novel and proprietary exosome-based therapeutics. Responsibilities will include helping to develop scalable operations supporting exosome purification such as affinity chromatography, filtration and ultrafiltration. The successful candidate will be instrumental in further scaling our manufacturing capabilities to advance our disease programs.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Independently plan and execute studies related to the recovery and purification of exosomes from conditioned cell culture media through to final formulation steps
  • Evaluate the scalability of processes by leading and assisting in lab and pilot scale exosome production
  • Contribute to publications as well as to patents in the areas of exosomes purification and present results at scientific meetings
  • Demonstrated capability to troubleshoot, design and execute thoughtful experiments, and implement innovative solutions
  • Rigorous documentation of research methods and technical reports

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Bioengineering or related field, BS (6+ years), MS (4+) or PhD (0+) years of experience directly related downstream processes;
  • A strong background in downstream processing concepts and implementation strategies
  • Hands on experience in chromatographic and/or filtration (i.e. TFF) based separations of biologic molecules required, preferably viral vectors or nanoparticles
  • Familiarity with executing analytical methods used to support biologics or nucleic acid purification process development (e.g. AGE, SDS-PAGE, ELISA, WB, etc.)
  • Understanding of fed-batch/perfusion bioreactor upstream operations is preferable but not required
  • Experience as part of a team transitioning viral vector or biologics programs through preclinical development is highly desired
  • Open minded with excellent problem-solving skills, as well as the confidence to work within a fast-paced research field
  • Strong work ethic with capability to work independently and in a collaborative environment
  • Strong written and verbal communicator in English
