Position Description
Non-tenure track position studying: 1) exosome-delivered long noncoding RNA driving urothelial cancer progression and 2) epigenetic regulation of alternative splicing and last exon selection.

Knowledge of, and expertise in both RNA biology and epigenetics is essential. Candidate will be expected to work independently and to conceive, design and carry out experiments, write both manuscripts and grant applications. In addition, candidate will have experience directing/mentoring undergraduate and graduate studentsâ?? research. Candidate should have expertise in performing RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ChIP and RT-qPCR, RNA immunoprecipitation, gene knockdown, transient and stable transfection of cell lines and primary cells, growing primary cells in culture, gene knockout and shRNA-mediated gene knockdown, MeDIP, sodium bisulfate, genome-wide 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5-hmC) localization. In addition, detailed knowledge of bioinformatics analysis of RNA- and ChIP- seq including detection of alternative spliced exons, is highly desirable. Candidate should have PhD or MD with extensive background in research.
