Applications are invited for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to manage and develop projects investigating the roles of circulating extracellular vesicles in cardiovascular biology and the impact of diet on the generation and function of extracellular vesicles. Extracellular vesicles are shed from a variety of cell types and are thought to reflect vascular damage and a pro-coagulatory environment. We are interested in characterising them using flow cytometry and nanoparticle tracking analysis, and how they change in individuals with cardiovascular disease and in response to different dietary environments. The 6-year post will provide an opportunity for the post-holder to shape research ideas, apply for research funding and gain experience which would help them to establish themselves as independent researchers. They will have the opportunity to collaborate with researchers both within the University of Reading and other institutes. There will be significant opportunity for personal development, including teaching experience if desired. You will have:
- A PhD in a Life Science subject
- Research background in Cardiovascular Biology
- Experience with flow cytometry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
