Postdoc Position Available – Exosome Biology

The Roth lab in the Department of Anesthesiology seeks a highly motivated postdoc to lead a project studying exosome biology and engineering for therapeutics in ischemic diseases of the retina. This research is presently supported by two NIH R01 grants and other funding.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design and perform in vivo and in vitro laboratory experiments using cell and molecular biology approaches
  • Test, optimize, and implement both new and existing methods, procedures, and techniques
  • Assist with in vivo rodent studies
  • Maintain the laboratory equipment and material
  • Develop, write, and maintain comprehensive laboratory protocols and records of results
  • Write manuscripts under the supervision of the PI
  • Present data in scientific events and laboratory/Dept. Meetings
  • Coordinate experiments with co-investigators
  • Co-mentor undergraduate and graduate students under the guidance of the PI.


  • This position requires a Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D. degree in biological sciences (biology, cell biology, pharmacology, biochemistry, immunology, physiology, or vision or neuroscience preferred)
  • At least two original research publications in an indexed journal. Position is immediately available.
  • Prior experience with animal studies, cell culture, RNA and DNA isolation, cell transfection, western blot, confocal microscopy, immunostaining, qPCR, and flow cytometry is a requisite.
  • Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, laboratory experience, and university guidelines.
