The laboratory of Per Svenningsen, Department of Cardiovascular and Renal Research at the Department of Molecular Medicine, University of Southern Denmark, is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to work on elucidating the role extracellular vesicle dynamics in vivo.
A postdoc position of 24 months, with the possibility of extension, is available from October 1, 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The applicant will conduct his/her research with a focus on understanding how extracellular vesicle-secretion rates and cellular uptake is controlled and how this affects the metabolism in mice. The applicant is expected to explore the potential of modulating EV signaling pathways to identify novel therapeutic targets against metabolic diseases.
The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for the planning of the project as well as data acquisition, preparation and analysis, manuscript writing, and other activities for disseminating the results. The candidate is also expected to apply for research funding from external funding agencies.
Qualified and highly motivated candidates from all nationalities are encouraged to apply.
The successful applicant will be expected to have
- Obtained a Ph.D. in a relevant area, e.g., biological and biomedical sciences, endocrinology, molecular biology, or another closely related discipline.
- Proven experience and knowledge with animal models of diseases is a major requirement.
- Ability to work structured and independently.
- Good communication skills and high proficiency in English.
- Good collaborative and social abilities.
