RION expands manufacturing operations with cutting-edge facility in Rochester

RION, a pioneer in regenerative medicine and exosome technology, has unveiled a major expansion of its manufacturing operations with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art facility in Rochester, Minnesota. In collaboration with Rochester Area Economic Development, Inc., this move represents a significant milestone in RION’s mission to bolster its manufacturing capabilities in support of its groundbreaking Rion Aesthetics spin-off and its globally renowned skin and hair brand, (plated)™ Skin Science.

Spanning approximately 14,000 square feet, the new facility equips RION with advanced industrial space to ramp up the production of the (plated)™ Skin Science brand. Launched by Rion Aesthetics in 2022, this brand has swiftly gained traction among Plastic Surgeons, Dermatologists, and upscale Medical Spas. With Rion Aesthetics surpassing its sales projections by over 50% in 2023, this expansion by RION becomes imperative to sustain the remarkable growth of (plated)™ Skin Science.

To facilitate the expansion of the new facility, Governor Tim Walz and the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) have granted RION funding from the Job Creation Fund and Minnesota Investment Fund. RION stands to receive up to $440,000 from the Job Creation Fund and up to $175,000 from the Minnesota Investment Fund. These incentives aim to bolster RION’s efforts in generating and retaining high-quality employment opportunities for the state of Minnesota while augmenting the local and state tax revenue, thereby fortifying Minnesota’s economic landscape.
